We Did It! New Gear Is On Its Way!
December 31, 2019 – Los Angeles, CA
The LAFD Foundation is thrilled to announce that we have secured sufficient funding to fulfill three of our top equipment priorities for the men and women of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Just in time for the new year, the Foundation was able to order the following equipment, allocating over $1 million from recent donations for these essential items:
- 3,500 pairs of protective gloves
- 7,000 flame-resistant particulate hoods
- 3,500 carcinogen-containment gear bags
Throughout October and into November, our brave firefighters battled blazes on multiple fronts, including the massive Saddleridge, Tick and Getty Fires. Due to the public outpouring of love and support, our firefighters will be better equipped for future incidents.
