 Youth Programs

All donations to the LAFD Foundation are tax-deductible (Tax ID #27‐2007326). Donations gratefully accepted through Flipcause; you may also use Visa, MasterCard, AmEx, or Discover.

The Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation is proud to announce the Jerry Weintraub Youth Garden, a special brick pathway to be built at the LAFD’s Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center near Dodger Stadium. With every brick you buy, you’ll be helping to create a brighter future for at-risk youth in Los Angeles by supporting LAFD youth programs.

These include the LAFD Fire Cadet program, the FIRE Academy, and two new LAFD-supported magnet high schools, where your donation will help fund PE and classroom uniforms, textbooks, supplies, and curriculum development. Students who participate in these programs will learn more about fire service and the possibilities for a career as a firefighter or paramedic.

Why Buy a Brick?
With 96 percent allocated for salaries and benefits, the city’s budget only includes partial funding for youth programs. They remain in desperate need of such basics as recruitment materials and fundamental training equipment. Your support for Pathway for Youth Support is an investment not only in the positive future for LA’s young people, but in the safety and quality of life in our great city.

Give Today
The Pathway for Youth campaign was launched during the Foundation’s annual fundraising gala, Fahrenheit 2015, where guests bought bricks to be personally engraved and used to create the pathway. Our deepest thanks to those who gave, and to you for supporting this groundbreaking program!
